About Tara

Tara McDonald is an international critically acclaimed singer-songwriter with over 10 tracks hitting the Top 10 Charts globally. Tara's acclaimed singles and star studded collaborations with David Guetta "Delirious" (Pop Life), Armand Van Helden "My My My", Axwell "Feel The Vibe", Afrojack, Todd Terry, Snoop Dogg (...) have earned her 7 platinum, 5 gold and 3 silver certified singles, 7 #1 singles, 5 #1 UK Dance Chart, 1 #1 Billboard Dance Charts Top 100 and 10 tracks which reached Top 5 in the Dance Charts in 27 countries.

Now signed with PLAY TWO/TF1 Group/Believe for her debut solo album, Tara decided from an early age to use her voice to promote equality for the LGBTQIA+ community after her close friend was hospitalized in a homophobic attack when she was 18 years old.

Tara say’s the incident was like a ‘calling’. She speaks passionately and openly on the subject: “I feel honored when I perform at Pride. It is a privilege to have a space and a place on a Pride Stage, to show continued support. We need to keep showing up. Repeatedly”.

Tara supports LGBTQIA+ PRIDES all over the world; performing at festivals, live concerts and legendary clubs in the gay scene : Porto (2007), Marseille (2012), Brighton (2008), Birmingham (2009), Manchester (2012), Soho Pride (2009), Amsterdam (2008- 2024), at the legendary Scream Party Paris (2014), DTPM Fabric London (2005-2006), WE PARTY London (2011), G.A.Y London (2006), Milkshake Festival Amsterdam (2012), Reading Pride (2022), headlining Winter Pride Gran Canaria, Spain (2016, 2017, 2019, 2022, 2024).

In 2019 Tara’s single «Money Maker» feat Latin Billboard & Grammy Award Winners Zion & Lennox headed a campaign promoting LGBTQIA+ rights on Comedy Central TV channel in India for Pride month.

In 2016 Tara’s single "I Need a Miracle" was chosen as the official Europride anthem for 2016. The message
of the song is almost like a prayer, about hope, equality, respect and asking for a deeper love and understanding. The message fit perfectly with what PRIDE stands for. The single shot straight to #1 Belgium, #1 Portugal, #18 France, #13 The Netherlands, #10 Italy and also featured in the new film "White Island" set in Ibiza starring Billy Zane and U.K singer rapper Example and included in the #WeHelpU album to raise money for people affected by the Earthquake in Italy.

One of her proudest achievements was being chosen as the ambassador "La Marraine" of Paris PRIDE 2014 where she gave a speech leading the march through Paris and performed an electrifying stage performance in front of 500,000 people.

2013 she performed at Strijders voor de Liefde (Warriors for love) in Amsterdam a televised concert to raise awarness for LGBTQIA+ rights around the world and started a kiss chain which went across the country.
